The People Who Meet NiiNu

A Small Story Woven Through Individuality

NiiNu’s haori and handmade garments quietly cross boundaries.
They find their way to people of all genders, backgrounds, and ages—drawn not by categories, but by a shared love for color, pattern, and self-expression.

Some of the first customers who picked up my haori were men.
Others were women who instantly fell in love with the delicate frills or the unexpected color combinations.
But in every case, what struck me most was not “who” they were, but how beautifully unique each person’s style felt.

People who choose NiiNu value their individuality.
They enjoy the texture of the fabric, the flow of a frill, the story hidden in a pattern—as if they are discovering small treasures woven into the cloth.

“I want to wear something that feels like myself.”
“I don’t need to look like everyone else.”
“I chose this because the colors moved me.”

Those pure, instinctive reasons are what bring people to NiiNu.

And when I meet them at markets, their personalities become even more vivid.
Someone tries on a haori and smiles shyly at the mirror.
Someone else lights up the moment they realize a piece suits them more than they expected.
Another person tells me why a particular pattern speaks to them.

Each of these moments feels like NiiNu is breathing through the people who wear it.

I often lose track of time while talking with customers—it’s simply too enjoyable.
They come from different countries, generations, and experiences, yet within the world of NiiNu, they seem to meet on the same map, connected by something invisible.

Perhaps it’s because
they are people who genuinely enjoy the little stories woven into every piece of fabric.

Not defined by gender nor age,
but united by a sense of individuality, curiosity, and a love for art through textiles.

NiiNu continues to grow thanks to these people.
And I hope to keep creating garments that quietly accompany someone on their journey—
something they can wear like a personal story.

Every conversation at the market becomes a precious clue for what I create next.
