When the Heart Walks

When the Heart Walks

There are days when the heart chooses to walk.

Along a narrow path,
where the scent of green drifts quietly through the air.

A white-tailed bumblebee,
buzzing with determined urgency,
travels from flower to flower,
never lingering for long.

Above,
the sky stretches like an untouched canvas—
clear, endless,
without a single cloud to interrupt its blue.

To live surrounded by moments like these,
to feel them against my skin instead of simply seeing them,
may be one of life's quiet luxuries.

The world beyond us is always shifting.
News arrives.
Seasons change.
Even within our own small lives,
unexpected troubles find their way in.

On days when my thoughts grow heavy,
I simply walk.

Listening to the wind.

Breathing in the scent of leaves and grass.

Allowing each step
to slow the rhythm inside me.

Perhaps living this way—
with a little more attention,
a little more care—
is enough.

Because every quiet step we take
leaves something behind.

Not a mark anyone else can see,

but a gentle trail
the heart remembers.
