Fragments of a Made-to-Order Piece

Fragments of a Made-to-Order Piece

NiiNu is not built around mass production, but around small, intentional moments of making — where fabric, rhythm, and chance define each piece.

This back ribbon Haori is based on a signature silhouette, yet every order is slightly different.
Fabric selection, colour balance, and pattern placement naturally shift each time, resulting in truly one-of-a-kind garments.

Even when based on the same design, no two pieces will ever be identical.
Each one exists as a quiet variation, shaped by the moment it is created.

Design variations

While the base silhouette remains consistent, I adjust each piece intuitively during the making process.

The front frill detail can be selected as either present or absent, depending on preference.
The sleeve panel detail is also optional and may appear on either side, or be omitted entirely.

At the same time, choosing to leave everything entirely to intuition is also part of the process — a way of allowing the piece to become what it wants to be.

Small batch approach

NiiNu works in small, intentional batches rather than continuous production.
Once a limited number of orders has been reached, the release may be temporarily closed.

Each drop will later return in a new form — with different colours, materials, or subtle variations — continuing the evolution of the silhouette over time.

From order to piece

After an order is placed, photographs of the finished piece will be shared for review.
Once confirmed, a private product page will be created individually, where the purchase can be completed.

As each piece is made individually, no two results are ever the same.
These differences are not imperfections, but part of the work itself.

Closing note

Every piece begins with a single fragment of cloth, and evolves through time, intuition, and encounter.

Choosing, or letting go of choice, becomes part of the same narrative.

We hope you enjoy the quiet uniqueness of each piece.
